The Brief

London based confectionery brand Lola’s Cupcakes have released a Ramadan range of cakes and cupcakes for sale during the holiday. They also wanted brand awareness and to draw attention to the fact that they had a new food certification for the British Muslim market, and the final piece of this brief was to create an engaging fun AR filter that would drive awareness and push consideration.

Build brand awareness in the Muslim audience following the release of Lola’s Cupcake’s new Ramadan Cupcake range.

The Approach

The team co-created two videos for an online release alongside Lola's marketing team. A "Challenge Video", in which members of halal Hangouts Youtube channel competed against one another to create the best Ramadan cupcake. The final video embodied the fun, light-hearted image the client brand puts forward and highlighted the high-quality ingredients and attention to detail that goes into each product the company creates.

Additionally, a “Review Video” was produced and released on the Halal Hangouts Youtube Channel, which they shared across their brand’s social media platforms. The video included an advertising sketch that spotlighted the Ramadan range in a light-hearted manner. The reviewing segment followed Halal Hangouts’ standard review template dispersed with product videography by the Online Buzz team. The segment was followed by how the audience would be able to purchase the Ramadan range. Directing them to the Lola’s Cupcakes website for purchase.

The results

Combined 200k impressions across all platforms and aligned Lola's with Muslim influencers to create domain authority and foundation to build wider campaigns into the British Muslim market.
